Marvel Studios announced Tuesday that the "Iron Man" tandem of star Robert Downey Jr. and flmmaker Jon Favreau will assemble for the "Avengers" film, although the role announced for Favreau is that of executive producer, not director.

Batman's joust with the Joker has set another box office record.
Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, "The Dark Knight" set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman said Saturday.
The movie's Friday haul surpassed the previous record of $59.8 million set last year by "Spider-Man 3." "The Dark Knight" might break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million, also held by "Spider-Man 3."

A batch of five tiny screenshots, concept art and a teaser trailer from Sony Online Entertainment Austin's DC Universe Online have been revealed, offering a first look at the PC and PlayStation 3 comic MMO.
The media appeared on the recently opened DC Universe Online MySpace page. No release date for the game has yet been announced, though more details are expected at this year's Comic-Con, taking place in San Diego later this month.

Apparently Bale will be in all three. The story doesn’t say either way whether Arnold will be in any of them, but it sounds like they’re in it for the long haul if they’ve signed Bale for 3!

The Blu-ray 2.0 spec (or BD-Live) is just days from launch. Sony just announced that the next PlayStation3 firmware updated -- v2.20 -- will add the new interactive features to your PS3. As such, PS3 owners should expect downloadable video content, ringtones, interactive movie-based games, and the always intriguing "more" when the software is released in "late March."
