Like tuning a violin to produce strong, elegant notes, researchers at The Wistar Institute have found multiple receptors on the outside of the body's killer immune system cells which they believe can be selectively targeted to keep the cells in superb infection- and disease-fighting condition.

The walking dead may or may not be coming to eat your flesh. But there's no doubt zombies are a rising part of Portland culture.

Last Sunday brought the fourth-annual Portland Zombie Walk, in which hundreds of fake-blood-drenched ghouls marched through downtown. Among the lumbering ranks were undead clowns, cops — even an Obama zombie moaning for "chaaaaange."

Saturday saw 58 zombies perform the dance from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video at an Oaks Park fundraiser as part of a global re-enactment. And only about six months remain...

LONDON - Fifty-year-old restaurant chain Pizza Hut is temporarily changing its name to Pasta Hut in a radical £100m relaunch.

Although it plans to keep the same number of pizzas on the menu, from this week Pizza Hut will introduce eight pasta dishes across its 700 restaurants to support its new positioning. Nine restaurants will change their signage immediately.

GeoEye Inc said it successfully launched into space on Saturday its new GeoEye-1 satellite, which will provide the U.S. government, Google Earth users and others the highest-resolution commercial color satellite imagery on the market.

DARPA is close to awarding a contract for the initial development phase of an unmanned aircraft capable of staying aloft for five years at a time, according to the aviation magazine Flight.

Here are the official pictures of the production Alfa Romeo 8C spider which won’t hit the showrooms before next year.

Following the example of the coupé, the 8C Spider will be powered by the 450bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine derived from the Maserati’s V8. The engine will likely hooked up to the same six-speed gearbox used in the coupé. The 8C Spider also features ceramic brakes and Alfa engineers have improved the in-house traction control system called VDC.
