This one's not as messy as last week's news of a Prince of Persia flick - Assassin's Creed is fresh Ubisoft IP, the movie's being made in-house and it's only going to be eight minutes long. Mary Beth Hensen, spokeswoman for Ubisoft:

There's always been more to Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed than meets the eye (like which platforms it was being developed for, natch) and the mysterious ending to the E3 trailer which pegged the game as not actually taking place in the past. Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallet has revealed that the company intends to become the second biggest third-party publisher after Electronic Arts by 2012.

It's official. The Xbox 360 will be a cheap-ass $100 tomorrow, Thanksgiving day, at 11 AM PST (2 PM EST, other times in unimportant time zones) at Amazon.com.

So the PlayStation Network is free, right? Well, nothing is free. Somebody's got to pay for it, and if it's not you or me, it sure as hell ain't gonna be Sony. It's a business, not a charity!
Several industry insiders report that to cover demo download costs, Sony is currently considering charging third party developers. Here's what Sony is apparently thinking: Every time an individual downloads a demo, a service charge will be passed onto the third party developer.
