Just One Thing Is Needed
Quite possibly one of the greatest challenges for me has been keeping on top of things; I have a stack of things to get done, however I can wake up on a free day feeling completely depressed: what then?
All those plans, hopes and 'to do' lists go out the window, as I struggle to do the simplest of things: get out of bed, eat breakfast, or even sit down at the computer and keep up with my emails.
So what's a guy to do, when he's lost his mojo? well, one of the things I've discovered, (and so far, it's worked for me) is to DO AT LEAST ONE THING TODAY.
Luckily, I have a fantastic manager, and I go to a job I enjoy, so at least three times a week I do just that, pack my tank bag and make my way to work. If the 20 minute fast and furious bike ride hasn't given me a lift, interacting with people, having a laugh with a colleague and having a good lesson will give me a much needed boost.
A much-needed shot of the good ol' endorphins later, and I'm ready to tackle yet another thing. Maybe I'll cook tonight, or go on-line and have a gossip with a buddy. Maybe I'll just kick back and watch something with the family.
The deal is, once I've accomplished something, my self-esteem improves, the haze lifts and I'm ready to do; JUST ONE MORE THING.
Even if it's just to take out the rubbish.
